Forging temperature requirements for special alloys

In general, the alloying degree of special alloys is high, so the surface is easily depleted of alloying elements during heating, which combines with the furnace gas to form embrittlement compounds, which reduces the plasticity and properties of the forging surface; some alloys also easily absorb harmful gases. The surface is contaminated, so it is necessary to heat it in a protective atmosphere furnace or to apply a protective lubricant to the surface of the blank. In addition, special alloys have a narrow forging temperature range and are sensitive to heating and forging temperatures, so heating is required in a furnace capable of precisely controlling the temperature. In the forging process, severe deformation should be avoided to avoid excessive temperature rise and affect the forging structure and performance. At the same time, it is necessary to strictly guarantee the terminal temperature and minimize the chilling effect of the mold on the forging.
